Ray-Ban Kids and Junior: Childish Pranks

Ray-Ban Kids Glasses

All adults know that childhood is the most wonderful time, when you can play pranks, devour sweets, and sleep without limits! Today, being a kid is not only fun but also fashionable. Over the past decade, many corporations and brands, from designer clothing to food products, have launched lines specifically for young children.

With a wide variety of models for adults, Ray-Ban couldn’t forget about the youngest users. That’s how the separate Kids and Junior sunglasses collection appeared.

Kids and Sunglasses

It’s no secret that an excess of direct sunlight can harm the human body, especially the eyes. Children’s eyesight is even more vulnerable since the development of the eyeball, cornea, lens, and retina is still ongoing until the age of 3, making them much more delicate than in adults. Therefore, it’s essential to focus on their protection.

IMPORTANT! If your child has light-colored irises, their eyes need extra protection.

Ophthalmologists suggest that children can start wearing sunglasses from the age of one. However, the ideal age for wearing sunglasses is 3-4 years, when the child can understand that sunglasses help them avoid squinting.

For parents choosing sunglasses for their little ones, doctors have developed several recommendations to keep in mind:

  • The preferred material for lenses is polycarbonate, a lightweight, strong, flexible, and impact-resistant material;

  • “Ray-Bans and Mini Ray-Bans”

    In 2003, Ray-Ban launched the Junior collection, aimed at kids aged 8-12. Over the years, models for younger children (3+) were added, and this segment was named “Kids.”

    The creators focused heavily on protection and safety, combined with vibrant, fun colors that appealed to the younger generation. Thus, the collection introduced children’s optical frames and sunglasses as miniature versions of iconic Aviator, Caravan, Wayfarer, Highstreet, Clubmaster, Tech, Active Lifestyle, and others.

    All glasses in the Ray-Ban Kids and Junior collection meet ophthalmologists' recommendations mentioned above. For instance, most of them are made with polycarbonate lenses.

    Moreover, Ray-Ban continues to innovate: in 2005, titanium was introduced in the children’s frames, providing hypoallergenic benefits and reducing weight.

    So, if your child loves secretly playing or posing in your sunglasses, don’t be upset! Instead, get them a pair of Ray-Ban glasses that will protect their eyes and look as stylish as yours!
