Ray-Ban Brad: Taking on Angelina Jolie

Ray-Ban Brad: Aiming for Angelina Jolie

Ray-Ban Brad Glasses

We are dealing with yet another interesting variation on the classic Aviator theme. This time, it's plastic and bears a well-known male name!

Hello, I’m Brad — Brad Pitt

Of course, it’s not definitively known why this model was named Brad. But we’d like to think it was named after one of Hollywood’s most famous actors, husband of the beautiful Angelina Jolie, the dashing Brad Pitt.

Especially since this man, unwittingly, made a significant contribution to the popularization of the Ray-Ban brand. Photographers have frequently captured Pitt wearing classic Aviators with mirrored mineral lenses and a metal frame.

Perhaps that’s why the Ray-Ban family now includes the Brad glasses!

So, what is the Ray-Ban Brad model like? These are casual-style city glasses with a teardrop shape and a double bridge on the nose. As for the lenses, they are always made from polycarbonate. This material is known for its high impact resistance, thermal stability, resistance to deformation (in the event of a strong impact, the lens doesn’t crack into shards but simply bends), lightness, thinness, and eco-friendly recyclability.

In these glasses, the lenses are often produced using gradient technology (the tint smoothly transitions from dark to almost clear) or with a mirror finish (a silver coating that reflects sunlight).

The frame is equally matched to the polycarbonate lens, made from rubberized plastic. It is lightweight and strong, and the rubber ensures a secure fit on the nose (no need to worry about them slipping off). A slight accent on the outer upper corners gives the frame a resemblance to the popular 1960s "cat-eye" style, drawing attention to the wearer’s eyes.

Interestingly, almost all sources claim that the Brad model is exclusively for men. But we’d argue otherwise, since the teardrop shape suits everyone — both women and men. The color options for these glasses are also quite neutral and work well with both bright outfits and more understated attire.

It’s clear that Ray-Ban Brad glasses can appeal to a wide audience. For example, we’re in agreement with Angelina Jolie. After all, like us, she loves Brad!
