Ray-Ban Justin: NOT Bieber
Ray-Ban products are sunglasses with a name not only in a figurative but also in a literal sense. The creators of this legendary accessory have often given it names. Over time, models such as Jackie, Dylan, Andy, and Erika have emerged.
In this article, we will focus on one of these “named” models, specifically Ray-Ban Justin.
Up the street
This model belongs to the Ray-Ban collection family known as Youngster. Sunglasses in this line are distinguished by a strong association with casual style and the rhythm of the big city.
At the end of 2011, the Justin model appeared, one of the brightest representatives of the collection. It embodies the tradition of organically combining the experience of previous collections (influence on shape) with modern technologies (influence on materials).
It is impossible not to notice that Justin’s softened rectangular frame resembles one of the brand’s iconic models, the wandering Wayfarer. As for technologies, the model was initially released with gradient lenses, and later mirrored sunglasses appeared as well.
What it’s made of
For all Youngster class collections, the favorite material for frames is plastic, and Justin is no exception. This material stands out for its lightness, tactile feel (special polishing technology), durability, and variety of colors and shapes (compared to metal, plastic is much more flexible).
Often, Justin is made from rubberized plastic. This detail adds functionality and comfort: the glasses sit securely on the face, making slipping or falling off practically impossible.
Attention must also be paid to the lens material. It is polycarbonate or enhanced polycarbonate (APX). Both materials are strong, lightweight, impact-resistant, and deform upon hard impacts (which prevents the formation of hazardous shards).
As for APX, it differs from its predecessor in the following ways: the lens has a convex shape, making it thinner and therefore ultra-light. Additionally, its already excellent impact resistance has been further improved.
Thanks to the overwhelming use of plastics in Justin’s composition, they amaze with their colors. Combined with the trendy Multilayer Mirror lens technology, according to Ukrainian and international publications, the model became one of the “juiciest” in 2014.
Despite the fact that this collection is relatively new (considering the brand’s nearly century-old history), it has earned its honorable place among fans of stylish sun protection! If you’re one of them, you couldn’t possibly have overlooked Ray-Ban Justin!
